Davis Polito is a creative technologist working in the New Instrument Research Laboratory at Princeton University. For the past 4 years he has been creating physical and digital instruments that introduce new and nuanced gestures for performers and composers as well as unique experiences for audiences. Davis’s instruments have allowed his collaborators to explore the expressive potential of radiative heating, sculptural strings, and physically actuated speakers. Davis’s instruments have been performed at venues such as Roulette Intermedium, Distribution Hall, and Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. His research has also been showcased in the New Interfaces for Musical Expression yearly journal/conference.
